Hammer, heat and forge: Making a 'fold formed' leaf in copper
A short fun filled group workshop using hammers and heat to fold and form copper into leaf designs.
Perfect for short group workshops and an introduction to working with metal. This fun, loud workshop, explores using heat to soften metal (anneal) for forming with hammers into simple but effective organic leaf shapes, keeping the natural heat patina in deep red shades on the metal.
Throughout the day, you’ll explore:
Annealing metal using a flame torch
Hammer techniques for forming metal
Turning metal into objects or jewellery
At the end of the workshop, you'll have completed your own hand-formed and hammered 'leaf'. These can be left as decorative objects or turned into earrings or a keyring.
